About the event
In this two stage workshop you will be introduced to the traditional craft of fabric printing using hand-carved Indian woodblocks to print a panel of fabric of your own design choosing from a wide range of woodblock stamps.
There will be time to practice and experiment printing onto paper using a variety of blocks to perfect your technique before printing your fabric panel piece.
You will then be shown how to fix your handprinted fabric piece to a PVC panel and assemble it into a 30cm drum lampshade suitable for a table lamp or overhead pendant.
If you wish to purchase a piece of white cotton fabric for your lampshade panel on the day there will be a £4 cover cost or you are welcome to bring your own (it must be cotton or linen and plain no pattern and white/cream.)
